Why Host Your Event at Heights House?

Heights House is the perfect backdrop for your next corporate retreat, styled shoot, intimate dinner party, brand pop-up, bridal shower, or engagement party.

Our immaculately restored 162-year-old mansion is a picturesque backdrop for any occasion. Our historic space feels grand and inspiring, while welcoming and cozy at the same time. Nothing was overlooked when it came to quality and we believe it’s reflected in the renovations, interior design, and the goods we serve daily. Unlike many empty shell venues that you may need to decorate, you truly don’t need additional decorations with Heights House. (Although you may certainly add anything you want!)

The property feels secluded, nestled at the entrance of a historic neighborhood. The house sits back on an acre corner lot surrounded by old, large trees, yet is centrally located in downtown Raleigh. You can walk from our property to nearly anywhere downtown.

We have ample indoor and outdoor event spaces making Heights House a venue for all seasons.

Additional Information

Please be mindful we will have guests staying in the hotel during the week. Therefore, for standard events over 30 guests, we will require an outdoor tent rental. Please speak to our events coordinator about the specifics of your event or shoot.

50% deposit is required to reserve your time and date.

Heights House is not eligible for an outdoor amplified entertainment permit because the site is not located within a hospitality district or within 300 feet of a thoroughfare. Therefore, any amplified (connected to a sound system) live music or DJ must be inside the house. You may have acoustic live music outside.

All evening events must end by 10:00pm Sunday - Thursday.

The property (outdoor and first floor) is wheelchair accessible.

There are three public restrooms on the first floor.

AV equipment can be rented for an additional fee.

All the lights in our indoor event spaces are dimmable so you can set the mood to your liking!

The House

lower level lounge - soft seating up to 10 people
A 400 square foot lounge, with windows for natural light, soft seating, flatscreen tv with cable, baby grand piano, record player, and mini fridge and restroom. (ADA friendly.)

honeymoon suite - soft seating for up to 12 people
A 500 square foot, two-room suite with incredible natural light, soft seating, fireplace, sound system, double vanity, and multiple floor length and wall mirrors.

dining room & library (limited hours) - tables & seating for up to 20 (however, up to 30 guests can fit comfortably for non-seated events)
600 square feet combined. The dining room comes equipped with 10 bistro tables and chairs that can be put together to create your preferred seating arrangement. The large room has a wet bar with refrigeration, sink, filtered water, espresso and coffee machine. A large double opening connects the room to the library which has soft seating. Both rooms have original artwork and working gas fireplaces. (ADA friendly.)

drawing room/parlor (limited hours) - seating for up to 20
(however, up to 30 guests can fit comfortably for non-seated events)

600 square feet combined. The grand drawing room boasts two large Italian-made sofas and additional soft seating and benches. The connecting parlor, which can also be closed off by the large double pocket doors, hosts our custom bar and additional soft seating. Both rooms have original artwork and working gas fireplaces. (ADA friendly.)

The Lawn

up to 149 guests

We intentionally added landscaping to accentuate the existing old magnolias and oaks that surround the property. The entire property has professional uplighting and can be as bright or as dim as you prefer. A tent is optional for guests counts fewer than 30 people. (Electrical hookups are available on the lawn.)

In the southwest corner is a fire pit with cozy seating and blankets. The two spacious front porches of the house also boast comfortable seating.

Outdoor table & chairs are provided for an additional fee.
